I also think that English speakers find it difficult to memorize Kanji(Chinese Characters) when learning Shogi.
また英語話者が将棋を学ぶときに漢字を覚えるのが難しいと思います。
For this reason, I tried to explain Kanji simply in this book.
そのため、本書では簡単に漢字の説明を試みました。
Playing Shogi is a lot of fun, and I want people all over the world to know how interesting it is.

The middlegame in shogi is the period between the beginning of the battle and the time when both players start attacking the opponent’s king.
将棋の中盤は戦いが始まってから両対局者が対戦相手の王様を攻撃し始めるときまでの期間です。
The goal of shogi is to capture the king but to do so, you first need to gain pieces and invade the opponent’s camp during the middlegame.
将棋の目的は王様を捕えることですが、そのためにはまず中盤で駒を獲得して敵陣に侵入する必要があります。
While the opening game is comparatively easy to play because there are standard moves such as joseki and castle-building, the middlegame is more difficult because there are many ways to play.
序盤戦は定跡や囲いなどの定番の手があるので比較的簡単ですが、中盤は多くの指し手がありもっと難しくなります。
For this reason, you need to evaluate the situation and choose between offense or defense on each turn during the middlegame.
このため、中盤においては状況を評価しターンごとに攻撃が防御かを選択する必要があります。

The endgame in shogi is the phase when both players attack the opposing camp and aim to checkmate the opponent’s king.
将棋の終盤は両対局者が敵陣に攻撃し対戦相手の王様を詰ますことを狙う局面です。
Even if you gain a lot of pieces through the middlegame, the winner of the game is the player who checkmates the king faster.
たとえ中盤で多くの駒を獲得したとしても、より早く王様を詰ましたプレイヤーの勝利です。
To achieve this objective, you must weaken the opponent’s defenses and then play“threatmate” and “brinkmate” moves to hunt down the king.
